Kauai is magical.
There’s really no other way to describe it. I had always wanted to go since I was a little girl: my parents eloped in Kauai under a waterfall with two islanders as their witnesses so when I thought of Kauai, I thought of that.
I finally went with my parents and now-husband Raphael during January of 2019 for two weeks. By the end of the trip, Raphael and I were scheming how we could move there. To this day, we still do…
The Kalalau Trail. Since we started our hike in the afternoon, we only made it to the beach. When we go back in 2019, we hope to hike to the waterfall.
Airplane Trail in Waimea Canyon. Not for those with a fear of heights, Airplane Trail was our second favorite hike on the island next to the Kalalau Trail. Pack a picnic and enjoy the epic views.
Secret Beach on the North Shore. The photos in the jungle with the insanely beautiful God rays? Those were taken on the way to Secret Beach.
The fruit. Pineapple, coconut, mangoes… you’ll see them at the natural food stores and along the side of the road. They are SO good, make sure to indulge while you’re there.
